KANT I
A detailed study of Kant's theoretical philosophy as presented in the Critique of Pure Reason. Topics include our knowledge of space, time, causation, external objects, and self; the critique of traditional metaphysical arguments about the soul, the cosmos, and God; Kant's special version of idealism; and Kant's theory of scientific inquiry. Written work will include several short papers and one term paper. PHILOSOPHY 004 and/or several prior courses in philosophy are strongly recommended.
