Philosophy and Science Major
The Philosophy and Science major requires 16 courses: 8 in philosophy and 8 in science, mathematics, or history of science departments. The Philosophy and Science major has a distribution requirement and a level requirement. The distribution requirement is satisfiedby a student successfully completing the following courses: The level requirement is satisfied by a student taking at least three courses above 201 including one 300-level course. The eight courses outside of philosophy may be either the social sciences, the natural sciences, mathematics, or history and sociology of science. At least four of these courses should be in a single department. The selection of these courses must be approved by the Undergraduate Chairperson in Philosophy.
