My Fichte Page

I've done a fair amount of work on Fichte over the years. My more substantial pieces — published or forthcoming — are listed in my CV or on my projects page.

This page contains links to some of the shorter things that I've written about Fichte.

To begin with, you'll find two book reviews. The first is of two volumes of Fichte translations by Daniel Breazeale. I originally wrote it for a journal called The Owl of Minerva, which allowed me to re-print it. The second is about an introductory commentary by George Seidel on Fichte's Foundations of the Entire Wissenschaftslehre from 1794/95. I wrote it for my site several years ago, just for fun; I recently revised it. Seidel's book is good for people new to Fichte.

I presented a paper on Fichte's 1801/02 Wissenschaftslehre before the North American Fichte Society in May 1999. I decided not to submit a revised version to the conference proceedings, but my original talk might be of interest to someone.

Several years ago I wrote the entry on Fichte for the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. I revised the entry at the beginning of 2005.

Also, you might want to visit the website of the North American Fichte Society. I happen to be the on-line editor.
